Greetings! We are very proud of our First Academy-Leesburg Alumni. You have been admitted to a wonderful variety of colleges and universities. Our prayer is that you will be salt and light wherever your walk takes you. Stay strong in Christ, make an impact on your world, and let us know how you are doing! We want to hear from you. Congratulations on your achievements. Send us an email when you have accomplished something noteworthy such as winning an award, or when you get married, or other major life events occur. We will post them on the website for you.

Katie Barron ('07) will be transferring to Florida State University in the fall to major in Orientation and Mobility (Posted 5/19/09)

Jeremy Becker ('06) is working toward his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Florida.  He is engaged to Megan Baum ('07).  They have set their wedding date for July 31, 2010. (Posted 2/9/09)

Taylar Becker ('08) is attending Lake Sumter Community College and is a starter on the volleyball team (Posted 3/12/09)

Paul Drake (Valedictorian '07) was named to FSU's President’s list for the fall semester of 2007, and the Dean’s list for the spring semester of 2008. To be on the President’s list one must obtain a 4.0 GPA, and for the Dean’s list, a 3.5 or higher. He was also was inducted into Phi Eta Sigma, a nationally recognized academic fraternity, which recognizes students for academic achievements. Paul states, "God is doing great things up here at Florida State University, and I am so thankful the faculty and staff at FA helped to prepare me for the outside world!" (Posted 9/5/08) 

Jonathan Elliott ('07) transferred to Lake Sumter Community College to major in Education.  He spent his first two years at Southeastern University as a Practical Theology major where he participated in three intramural championships in soccer, flag football and ultimate frisbee.  (Posted 5/19/09)

Josh Faile ('08) is majoring in Business Management at the University of South Florida with the intent of pursuing a career in Park Management.  He plays on the USF Bulls' Rugby team and qualified for the U20 Rugby Collegiate All-Stars.  (Posted 11/18/09) 

Martin Fisher ('08) will be majoring in accounting at the University of Central Florida.  He will be joining the UCF orchestra in the fall.  (Posted 8/13/09)

Stephanie Garrett (Valedictorian '06), a junior at the University of Florida majoring in Integrative Biology, has been selected as an Anderson Scholar.  This award recognizes Liberal Arts and Sciences majors whose GPA is 3.85 or higher.  Stephanie, who is carrying a 4.0, has been accepted into the veterinarian programs at The University of Florida, Ohio State University, The University of Tennessee and Louisiana State University.  Stephanie was one of forty students chosen from among one thousand pre-screened candidates.  Caulene Hudson, writer for FA's magazine, The Talon, quoted Stephanie as saying, "(First Academy) gave me a solid educational foundation, but also instilled in me the spiritual and moral values to help me lead a godly life on a secular campus."  (Posted 9/30/08, updated 1/11/10)

Jeremy Hanna ('06) is finishing up his A.A. degree at Lake Sumter Community College and will be heading to Tallahassee to study Meterology at FSU in the fall.  (Posted 5/13/09)

Sarah Hodges (Valedictorian '08) is a freshman at Yale University majoring in Biomedical Science.  Sarah stated, "First Academy provided me with the opportunity to be a well-rounded student and to grow my faith.  I was positively influenced by the strong values and morals of my teachers." (Posted 9/30/08)

Ben Horne ('08) is a running back for Crown College's football team in Minnesota.  Click here to see his latest highlights.  He traveled to Chile for Spring Break '08 on a mission trip assisting abused children.  He has been offered a six-week internship to teach English to seminary students in Chile, but needs funding to do so.  If you would like to sponsor him, you can contact him by clicking here. Hannah Hudson (Salutatorian '06) is a junior All-American swimmer for the University of Tampa, pursuing a double major in Art Management and Administration and Art History.  She competed in five events at nationals in the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships including the 400-yard freestyle relay, 800-yard freestyle relay, 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle, and the 100-yard freestyle.  Hannah was named Academic All-American for 2007-2008 with a 3.87 GPA.  (Posted 2/19/08, updated 10/27/08)

Jennifer Odom ('09) is in her sophomore year at Lake Sumter Community College.  She is pursuing a degree in Pre-Professional Medicine.  (Posted 1/13/10)

Danielle Oliver ('08) is majoring in Graphic Design at Florida A & M University.  She plans to work on her EMT license after completing her degree.  (Posted 3/12/09, updated 12/15/09)

Shane Potter ('07) was named to the Dean's List at Lake Sumter Community College. When he isn't working on school work, he works with the youth at FBCL's Genesis Center.  (Posted 1/7/08, updated 3/27/09) 

Zack Potter ('08) attends Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville.  He is a member of the basketball team and is majoring in Secondary Education (Math) and minoring in Physical Education.  (Posted 3/13/09)

Nathan Ricker ('08), FA's former class president, is now FA's first small business owner.  He owns PC Planet in addition to attending Lake Sumter Commmunity College. (Posted 3/27/09)

Josh Rivera ('06) has been accepted into Berkee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. (Posted 9/23/09)

Marcos "Tony" Rodriguez (’07)- Tony was named to the Dean’s List for the first semester at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina. He was awarded the rank of Cadet Corporal for his sophomore year, assuming additional leadership responsibilities for Charlie Company.  He and his pre-Navy Seals teammates competed in The Citadel's Bulldog Challenge for pre-Navy Seals teams from colleges throughout the southeast, taking fourth place.  Check out Tony's latest adventure, a run from Charleston to Savannah, by clicking here and here.  Tony, now a junior, is enrolled in the naval ROTC and says, "At First Academy, the staff and coaches taught me to always do my best.  What I learned at First Academy has helped me to stand out among my peers at the Citadel."  (Posted 3/21/08, updated 4/17/08, 12/11/08, 1/8/09)

Michael Salas ('06) is a Practical Theology major at Southeastern University.  He is minoring in Biblical Studies.  His band will travel with SEU's Ministry Arts Tour Team this summer playing worship music for youth camps across the U.S. (Posted 5/21/09)

Nick Westley ('07)- Nick Westley was named to the Dean's List at Thiel College in Greenville, Pennsylvania.  He transferred to the University of West Florida and is majoring in Criminal Justice.  After graduating in 2011, he plans to attend law school in Florida.  (Posted 2/11/08, updated 11/13/09)

Danae Williams ('06)- Congratulations to First Academy's first college graduate!  Danae graduated from Lake-Sumter Community College with her A.A. degree.  She will pursue her B.A. in Business Administration at the University of North Florida.  (Posted 6/27/07)
