I feel blessed that God has called me to teach here at First Academy. This is my ninth year teaching first grade, but I have a long history with this great school. My own children have been students here since kindergarten. My daughter is now attending First Academy High School, and my son graduated from our high school, and is a sophomore in college.
I received my bachelor and master degrees from the University of Oklahoma. My husband and I moved from Oklahoma to Leesburg in 1995. We are members of Morrison United Methodist Church, where I teach 3rd-5th grade Sunday school.
One of my passions is gardening. I enjoy sharing my love of plants, butterflies, and birds with my students.
Another interest I have is different cultures around the world. For the past few years my class has sent an ambassador to visit other schools around the world. Our traveling teddy bear is named Theodore. He makes a lot of friends all over the world. He travels with a journal and always brings back a lot of pictures.
